Update 81: As the clocks go forwarded at the end of the month the start time for Hintlesham has changed draw time 9am fishing 10 to 4pm. New fixture sheet has been uploaded. Next match Hintlesham on 27th March - IP8 3EG.
Update 80: As only 11 members attended the Pairs match was scratched and a normal fishing match was held. Nearly evryone managed to catch and enjoy a nice sunny day until 2pm when the weather changed. Congratulations to Alan Hattrell winning with 48lbs 10ozs.
Update 79: Reminder next match is a PAIRS match at Hintlesham on 13th March - IP8 3EG.
Update 78: St Osyth's Rectangle proved harder to fish than last week on the Triangle. The day was cold, windy but sunny. Due to the fish not biting, from the 9 members attending 6 went home before weigh-in. Congratulations to Andy Burt on winning the match with 40lb.
Update 77: St Osyth's Triangle proved a big hit with all members netting fish. The day was cold with strong winds but there were certain areas where the wind was not so noticeable so they were the lucky ones. Let's hope that the Rectangle will fish well on the 27 February. Congratulations to Alan Hatrell on winning the match with 46lb 8ozs.
Update 76: We have two changes to the fixture list which has been updated and available to download. For the next two matches (13 and 27 Fberuary) we will be using Paxman's St Osyth Triangle and Rectangle lakes. Many thanks to Paxman's for allowing us to use their lakes and to Micky Stuart who liaised with Paxman's to fix the bookings.
Update 75: Many thanks to those members who paid their subs especially to those members who were not fishing but took the time to come to the lake on Sunday and pay.

Update 73: 10 members arrived at Weeley Predator Lake hoping for a day of good fishing. Unfortunately it was not to be as at the end of a bright cold and breezy day only 3 weighed in. Congratulations to Gus Lee on winning the match with 23lbs 8ozs.
Update 72: 10 members out of the 13 booked arrived at Suffolk Water Park Match Lake 2 on Sunday this being our first match of 2022. It was a very cold day and by 1pm 5 members had left and the remaining 5 stalwarts continued with only two of those weighing in. Congratulations to the winner Gus Lee with 7ozs and second place was Bob Hewitt with 2ozs. We were told afterwards that the lake had been frozen for the previous few days and by Sunday it had thawed and was crystal clear and the feeling was that this is why it fished so poorly. A very disappointing day all round.

Update 68: A bright morning and very mild weather made a very pleasant day for the last match of the year. A few started the day off with breakfast at a local hotel and after a day's fishing a few more members went to the local pub for a very enjoyable Christmas meal to finish off the year. Congratulations to Gus Lee on winning the match with 41lbs.

Update 66: A very cold but sunny day at Laklelands yesterday with 12 members weighing ranging from 3lbs to 41lbs 8ozs. Congratulations to the winner Alan Hatrell with 41lb 08ozs - 2lbs of which was silvers. Also to be congratulated is Gary Batement on winning silvers with 6lbs 2ozs.

Update 65: Match Lake 1 at Suffolk Water Park proved a difficult day for members with weights ranging from 2lb to 19lbs 08ozs and then a big jump to the winner Kevin Barton with a weight of 74lbs 12ozs. Congratulations to Kevin. Also to be congratulated is Gary Batement on winning silvers with 6lbs. Shame about the lake not performing as members enjoyed the breakfast starting off the day well fed and happy!
Update 64: PLEASE NOTE: Martin is taking bookings for the Christmas meal which will be after the match at Weeley on 12 December.
Update 63: 8 Members fished the 31 October match at Melton Match lake due to the appalling weather, windy, wet and cold. Congratulations to Paul Lewis who won with 82lbs 8ozs (approx. weight as still awaiting confirmed weights from Martin). Congratulations also goes to Micky Stuart who won silvers.
Update 62: PLEASE NOTE 14 NOVEMBER MATCH AT SUFFOLK WATERS - DRAW NOW 9AM. This change is due to breakfasts not being served until 8am.
Update 61: 13 Members fished Stonham Barns New Lake. Miserable morning but brighter afternoon weatherwise. Weights ranged from 4lbs 12ozs to 24lbs 12ozs with very little difference in the first three placings. 2 members DNW. Congratulations to the day's overall winner Paul Cox and to Reg Panton who won the silvers.

Update 59: 15 Members fished Manor Farm Lake and everyone caught fish. A bright sunny day but windy. Fishing weights ranged from 9lbs 08ozs to the winner's 44lbs. Congratulations to the winner of the day Troy Doherty.
Update 57: 10 Members fished Hintlesham with two members not weighing in. The weather was good all day so it made for a pleasant day's fishing with weights ranging from 16lbs 04ozs to the winner's 83lb 08ozs. Congratulations to Bob Oakley on coming tops.

Update 54: Manor Farm New Lake has an ideal setting for anglers. Very large lake with great surroundings and good weather for our 14 members to enjoy. Congratulations to Bob Oakley who won with 73lb from peg 1.
Update 53: Suffolk Water Park saw 12 of us fish Match Lake 1 with varying results - 2 DNW and the others with weights ranging from 8lb to 59lbs. Weather was good with only a shower at the end of the day. Congratulations to Paul Cox who won with a weight of 59lbs (42lbs 4ozs carp (3) and 16lbs 12ozs silver). Congratulations to Mick Stuart who won Silvers with 42lbs 06ozs.

Update 50: 22 July - (1) 8 August match at Suffolk Water Park - please note change of lake this is now on Match Lake 1. (2) New match added - 19 September at Hintlesham (limited to 14 members only). (3) New match added - 31 October Melton.
Update 49: 18 July - Creeting Top Lake: 14 (16 booked) members fished on a very very hot day. Entrance to the lake had been changed which caused initial problems for some. The lake was not fishing particularly well so new huge weights achieved. Congratulations goes to Garvin Hatrell winning with a weight of 45lbs.
Update 48: 11 July - Bromswell Horseshoe lake: 10 members fished and congratulations goes to Troy Doherty winning with a weight of 96lbs.

Update 46: 12 members arrived to fish a windy day at Weeley and with other distractions didn't make for a comfortable day for some. On arrival it was noticed that the fish were spawning but we still managed to have a fairly good day overall with some good weights. A special congratulations to Kevin Barton who won with a weight of 102lbs 04ozs his first time achieving over 100lbs. Welcome to new member Joe Reeves.
Update 45: No enthusiam for fishing the lakes at Tylers Common, Brentwood so we will not be booking that in September.

Update 42: Sunday 6 June - Weeley Railway Lake. A lovely hot day with a slight breeze. 10 members fished with 1 blanking and 1 DNW. Gus Lee was the winner with 55lbs 07ozs. Gus also achieved his personal best with a carp caught on pole weighing 28lb 02ozs. Double congratulations to Gus.
Update 41: Sunday 30 May - Manor Farm New Lake - not a new venue for the Club but a first time on this lake which proved successful and enjoyable with many compliments from members. A very hot day with Kevin Barton weighing in as the winner with 31lbs 03ozs. Congratulations to him and also to Bob Oakley who won Silvers with 13lbs 08ozs.
Update 40: Sunday 23 May - 11 members arrived at Melton Match Lake on a fairly dry but very windy day. Congratulations to the overall winner Troy Doherty who weighed in 52lbs 12ozs. Also congratulations to Bryan Appleby on winnng silvers with 9lbs 12ozs and to Bob Hewitt landing a specimen Perch weighing 3lbs 2ozs which topped his earlier specimen of 2lbs 1oz.
Update 39: Sunday 9 May - A warm sunny day saw 15 members turn out to fish Hintlesham (COVID rules). Congratulations to the overall winner Gary Bateman with 41lbs 8ozs and Alan Hattrell who won silvers with 16lbs.
Update 38: Sunday 25 April - 11 members turned out to fish Cuton (COVID rules). Weather was a complete opposite to the previous match being grey windy and cold with a couple of sunny moments. Early morning frost made it a cold start. Congratulations to the overall winner Bob Hewitt with 12lbs. Gus Lee again won silvers with 1lb 8ozs.
Update 37: Sunday 4 April saw 11 members fish Melton, held of course under COVID rules. Bright very hot sunshine made the day very enjoyable. Update 33: Sunday 13 December match has been cancelled. No further Tanglers' matches will be held in 2020.
Update 32: 6 December fishing at Weeley Railway Lake was pretty difficult with no huge weights and a poor turnout due to the cold weather. Although cold it was sunny and dry. An all silver result and Congratulations to Gus Lee who won with a weight of 15lbs 03ozs. Thank you to those who paid their subs. Martin will be collecting the rest next Sunday.
Update 31 Amended: 2021 - Looking forward to fishing in 2021 and the ongoing uncertainty, a Fixtures list will not be published. As from the first match a new system of booking will be used. Those attending that match will be informed of the venues for the next two matches and will be able to book their place. At the second of the two matches those attending will be able to book their place for the following two matches. If there are any spaces remaining they can be booked by contacting Martin.

Update 29: 25 October fishing at Hintlesham was pretty difficult with no huge weights. Heavy shower in the morning but soon cleared with some sunshine. 15 anglers including 2 guests attended, 9 of which did not weigh in. As Martin was away on a fishing holiday Gus took control of proceedings and thanks everyone for their help and co-operation in sticking to the COVID rules. Congratulations to Bob Oakley who won with a weight of 31bs 02ozs.
Update 28: News of the 22 November match at Manor Farm. This will now be on both lakes so we will be holding a PAIRS match.
Update 27: FULLY BOOKED. News on the next match at Hintlesham. Clocks go back on 25 October so the draw will be at 8.30am and fishing will be from 9.30am to 3pm. REMINDER members to use their own nets and they must be dry. Spaces available please contact Martin by Friday 23 October.
Update 26: 12 October fishing at Weeley was very blustery and cold and wasn't fishing very well. 16 anglers attended, 7 of which did not weighed in. Highlight of the match was when Micky Stuart caught a Grass carp weighing approximately 7lbs. Congratulations to John Shepherd who won with a weight of 54lbs 08ozs.

Update 21: On Sunday 31 August members fished Bromswell Horseshoe lake. The weather was good so this made for an enjoyable day for all. Congratulations to the winner Paul Cox with a weight of approximately 100lbs.
Update 20: On Sunday 16 August 9 members fished Paxman's Decoy. The lake was not fishing well but the weather was good and remained dry until 4pm. Congratulations to the winner Gus Lee with a weight of 50lbs.
Update 19: On Sunday 2 August 10 members fished Melton. The weather was good but the lake was very weedy and so some swims were not allocated. The owners apologised and said due to COVID-19 restrictions the lake could not be cleaned during the last three months. The allocated swims proved difficult with 4 members deciding not to weigh in. Congratulations to the winner Paul Lewis with a weight of 38lbs 08ozs made up of 32lb carp and 6.08ozs of silver.

Update 16: 20 July On Sunday 19 July 16 members fished the Fennes match, our fourth under COVID restrictions. It was a pleasant day with little rain. Update 13: 2 July 19 July Fennes Braintree match - members to use their own nets and take them to the booking office prior to fishing so that they can be checked to make sure they are dry and if you have your own unhooking mat please bring and use it. Note: if nets are not dry you will not be able to use them.

Update 9: 22 June As announced in Update 1 below the League Table has been cancelled and as COVID19 has impacted on all matches now and going forward it has also been decided that trophies will not be awarded this year.
Update 8: 22 June On Sunday 21 June our second match under COVID 19 restrictions was held. Although again numbers were limited to 15 only 12 booked in for the day's fishing. Cuton proved a difficult day's fishing with no huge weights and 3 members deciding not to weigh in. See the results page for more info. Update 5: 9 June On Sunday 7 June our first match under COVID 19 restrictions was held. Although numbers were limited to 10 everyone was happy to be there and Bromswell Willow Lake looked very welcoming. The weather was mild with the odd shower. Unfortunately the fish were not feeding very well and so nets were not very full. Congratulations to Reg Panton the winner of the day's fishing with a weight of 34lbs 04ozs made up of carp.

Update 3: 16 August David Whiting invite match at Suffolk Water Park has been cancelled. We are hoping to hold a normal match instead with details to be announced nearer the time.
Update 1: THE LEAGUE TABLE.
Unfortunately it has been decided to cancel this year’s league table due to the number of matches that have had to be cancelled and going forward we do not know which venues or dates can be assured. There is also the fact that only a few members can now fish at any one match and so this puts others at a disadvantage.

AGM -Meeting held on 24 February - Update
Membership: 1 January to 31 December. It was agreed at the AGM held on 24 February that membership subs must be received by the 31 January to enable members to book matches for the following year. Those who do not renew by end of January will not be able book a match from February onwards.
Trophies: must be signed for on collection and returned by end of January of the following year. The Club has missing trophies which we have been unable to locate. These will not be replaced and therefore those awards will be discontinued.
